Thomson Reuters Launches E-Transcript Manager 9.0

Saves transcripts as PDFs for greater court reporting agency deliverability options

EAGAN, Minn., Sept. 20, 2012 – Thomson Reuters today announced the launch of E-Transcript Manager 9.0, the latest version of the system that is the benchmark for electronic transcripts, and the standard delivery format for litigators nationwide.

E-Transcript Manager is the only complete system for producing secure, custom-formatted, signed transcripts. E-Transcript files ensure page and line integrity, allow for custom formatting, and offer the security of a tamperproof, electronic signature.

The new version of E-Transcript Manager can save transcripts as PDF files, enabling fast, easy sharing of transcripts and providing agencies with more deliverability options. In addition, E-Transcript Manager 9.0 supports Microsoft Wordâ and rich text format documents as turn-in sheets.  Security and editing have been enhanced with new features that allow a signature for the transcript body only, and the ability to edit non-signed transcript pages without invalidating the signature.

E-Transcript Manager 9.0 is part of the RealLegal lineup of complete resources for court reporters from Thomson Reuters, and is included in every RealLegal Workflow and RealLegal Multimedia subscription. The free E-Transcript Viewer is all that's needed to view an E-Transcript. E-Transcript Manager files are also compatible with Westlaw Case Notebook and other popular litigation software.

“The new version of E-Transcript Manager extends its power and versatility in producing electronic transcripts,” said Kristin Nimsger, managing director and general manager, Litigation, Thomson Reuters.  “It produces electronic transcripts not only in the E-Transcript format – the industry’s recognized standard format for transcripts – but now also in the widely used PDF format. This enables faster sharing of transcripts with other parties. New security features also provide more flexibility in applying the electronic signature.”
